Background

The Client

Neutopia sees alumni as future learners, not former learners

Neutopia.co is a digital platform designed to serve modern alumni engagement through personalised content, facilitating communities, and delivering ongoing learning. It builds on the affinity and networks built through learning -- then increases the value of communications, outreach and the opportunity for further education between individuals and organisations.

For this project, I worked directly with Jamie Engel, the founder of Neutopia.

The Task

Develop user experience enhancements focused on Onboarding for End Users. End users being:

👤  Recent graduates who have graduated in less than 5 years ago

👤  Members of membership communities (ADHD Australia)

👤  Members of Industry Groups (AICD, CPA)

👤  Alumni of university/organizations (Universities, Learning Providers, William Angliss)

👤  Members of Entrepreneur hubs and incubators (Cremorne Digital Hub, Enactus)

Who are we designing for?

For this redesign, my focus lies in designing for a specific subset of Neutopia's end-users: recent graduates who have graduated within the last five years. I made this decision based on the extensive data and insights available for this group, which sets them apart from Neutopia's other end-users.

Requirements Gathering: Aligning with Stakeholders

Prior to initiating the project, we (Harness Projects students) facilitated a stakeholder alignment session with our client, Neutopia, in order to establish a shared understanding of their expectations, desired outcomes, and limitations, as well as to define the scope of the project and clarify some points in the brief. We remained in close communication with the client throughout the project by conducting regular check-ins, allowing us to ensure that we were addressing the correct issue and address any misunderstandings as soon as possible.

AFFINITY MAPPING

Following the stakeholder interviews, we compiled a comprehensive list of insights and utilized affinity mapping techniques to identify recurring themes. We grouped similar insights together, resulting in eight overarching themes emerging from the interview sessions.

Analyzing Neutopia’s Competitors

Taking stock of the competition - what has been done before, and if there are any gaps that we can fill.
